It's not possible to know whether the sewer line may be cracked, damaged, or otherwise impacted in some manner. Many times a sewer line camera inspection will reveal a number of defects in a sewer line. Sometimes those defects will not presently impact drain operation, but over time, this can and probably will change.&nbsp;<br />Tree root intrusion is a common concern for drain lines. Root intrusion can prevent proper drain operation by obstructing drainage, and eventually cause a backup.<br />A common defect I often see in cast iron drain lines is corrosion and build up. This essentially reduces the interior diameter of the sewer drain line, which can be very difficult to correct, short of replacement.<br />Lastly, don't assume that drain issues are limited to older homes. I recently utilized a sewer scope inspection to check a PVC drain line near Lamesa that had been replaced in the last few years.
