Property inspection prep checklist

Preparing your home for the inspection is important;
​Use this checklist to make the process simple and painless!

• #1 – Treat the property inspection like a really long “property showing” and prepare yourself & your property accordingly. (Remember, professional inspectors do not move personal belongings in order to inspect.)
• #2 – Are all utilities on? This is vital!
• #3 – Are all pilot lights lit, breakers on, and water shut off valves on?
• #4 – Dogs/cats or other pets secured?
• #5 – Electrical panel(s) readily accessible? (36” x 36” clearance is required)
• #6 – Heat and A/C systems accessible & operable? Thermostat have fresh batteries?
• #7 – Water Heater(s) accessible and operable?
• #8 – Attic access readily accessible? (If applicable)
• #9 – Crawlspace access identified and accessible? (If applicable)
• #10 – Have a septic system? Make sure the tank lid is identified and accessible.
